We cannot recommend Ground Up Builders enough! They converted our two-car garage into an ADU and did a truly amazing job. They finished ahead of schedule, communication was great throughout the process, and every single worker we interacted with was professional, kind and courteous. Uzi runs his business with both warmth and integrity. He generously answered every question we had (even the stupid ones!), and offered a lot of valuable advice too. We particularly appreciated that he kept his promise to not go over budget. There wasn't a single change order, even when there was an unexpected issue with the sewer line - he explained that the contingency would cover the additional costs. Such a relief knowing that what he bid was what we'd pay! Special shout-outs also to Marvin, Raphael and Nathan who were a pleasure to work with. Highest possible recommendation!+5Posted on Yelp

We needed to remove a bath/shower tile surround to re-waterproof and retile, and replace the fixtures. We went with GUB after getting their name from a tile vendor and meeting with more than one alternative. GUB were the most expensive by far but also were the most responsive and had the most professional and comprehensive bid. All of the legal paperwork and their license information was included, along with a detailed scope of work and examples of past work. Adi Aiish was our Field Manager. He’s friendly and very responsive and our overall impression was that the additional cost would be worth it to have a professional job. To be succinct, here are the pros and cons from the project: Pros: - Responsive field manager - Very fast demolition and quick work overall - Crew was hard working and polite, especially Antonio - Tiling work looks good Cons: - When a piece of plumbing broke and flooded the ceiling below, the response was that things like this happen. It took 5 days for the field manager to take a look and offer an apology. - During demolition, the mess was off the charts bad, leading to a lot of cleanup for us afterwards. During the project only the floor was covered (and on one day not at all). I’ve had other renovations done that were much cleaner. - The finishing was not as polished as I would have hoped. The caulking around fixtures was messy, the tile tilted slightly revealing the old seam around the floor, painting that was in the bid was only one coat until I asked for more. I think the M.O. is to work very quickly and fine tune the finishes only after being asked. Overall we’re happy with the result but would have liked them to go a little slower to be more careful.+1Posted on Yelp

Angelo Di Fusco409 days agoPainted and replaced flooring I’ve worked with Ground Up Builders for many years, and Jacob has always been my go-to person. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and takes the time to share creative ideas—he recently spent a long time helping me plan my kitchen remodel. His estimates are fair, right in line with other general contractors, but what sets him apart is his honesty, integrity, and the value he brings to every project. Over the years, Jacob has replaced carpeting with LVT flooring (and even secured me a great discount with the flooring company) and corrected the poor work of a previous contractor on a decorative window. Every experience has been positive, and I truly trust his judgment and workmanship. Ground Up Builders is always the first company I call, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality work and a contractor they can rely on.+4Posted on Yelp

Hector Herrera_11415 days agoI purchased my first home with my dad last year and really wanted a pool in my small backyard. I was worried it wouldn’t be possible just due to the huge dirt hill we had taking up half of the space. Adi Aiish at Ground Up Builders and Marcos Rojas took on this challenge and let me tell you, they absolutely did not disappoint. They took my plain backyard and turned it into an oasis, equipped with a heater for the pool AND the spa, as well as a built-in, natural-gas grill and countertop and tied it all together with a stunning planter and moody lighting that really brought the set up to life at night. I highly HIGHLY recommend these guys for anybody’s future home upgrades and projects. Thank you so much for also getting this done quickly and safely!!+14Posted on Google
Quinn Riddle468 days agoHad such a great experience using Ground up! Had water damage on our floors and used them to do the repairs. Not only did they do a fabulous job, they dealt with the insurance and made sure everything that was replaced was not just fixed, but better than it had been. Amir, our on site project manager was incredibly attentive to any questions or issues that came up and made sure we were satisfied to the fullest with the work. Sean was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the process making sure the insurance company didn’t drag their feet and paid for the repairs, & paid for us to stay at an Airbnb while they completed the work. We ended up having a few upgrades done on the house in addition to the repairs because we were impressed with their work, the prices, and most importantly, they were transparent and incredibly responsive to our needs.+0Posted on Google
Jacquie Barnbrook490 days agoI’ve worked with Ground Up Builders on several projects over the past 15 years, and they’ve consistently delivered outstanding results. Most recently, they completed a full remodel of my home—an 8-month project that was delivered on time and on budget. That alone speaks volumes in today’s world. Uzi was incredibly helpful throughout the process, offering thoughtful ideas that made the design not only beautiful but also future-proof. His professionalism is unmatched, and he leads a team that is both reliable and respectful. They showed up consistently, communicated clearly, and always cleaned up after themselves—a small detail that made a big difference. Thanks to Uzi and his team, I’m now living in my dream home. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with a project of this scale and importance. Uzi and the Ground Up Builders team are worth every penny and more! stephanie s.749 days agoWe could not be happier we chose Ground Up Builders to help us with our major remodel this year. Company owner Uzi stepped in as a late recommendation after a previous contractor wasn't cutting it. He gave us an accurate estimate within a short span of meeting us, and within a couple of weeks, our house was gutted and the project was on its way. His team always showed up (often even on Saturdays), was always on time, worked hard, managed additional requests and changes swiftly and with grace. Uzi himself was responsive, fair, kind, even-tempered, and honest throughout. He stopped by often and as necessary. The entire team was creative with problem-solving... and actually, there were no big problems to solve! Entire project was done in less than six months. Big recommend!+0Posted on Yelp
Brett F.949 days agoGround Up Builders did a fantastic job on fixing our deck and other home repairs. Sean Baraness was very helpful and made sure that everything was taken care of and on time. Carlos and his team were responsive and professional, and the deck looks great!+0Posted on YelpAnna L.1079 days agoWhen we describe our remodel experience to people, people are shocked at how smoothly it went. Ground Up is a unicorn among contractors. Our cost and time estimates were correct. 8/9 months for a bathroom and bedroom addition, kitchen remodel, new floors all over and updates to windows and current bathroom, and new patio. We didn't start out with that much to do, but of course we did expand the scope once we discovered how great Uzi's team was at getting things done - and it didn't add much to the time. We figured it was best to do as much as a we could while Ground Up was on site and it could get done quickly and reasonably. Uzi cares endlessly about the quality of his work, as well as the timeliness of it. He knows his stuff and has a good eye. He runs a big operation, but he manages it so well that it ends up being a big plus to the client - motivated and friendly workers who we really liked, crews that always show up day after day, everyone really working hard to get things done well and on time. We've been through construction before, so we know it's sort of unheard of to think of your contractor like a friend after going through the hell of construction. So glad we went with Ground Up, and im sure we'll use them again if we ever need home improvement again.+6Posted on Google
Lauren Sumer1207 days agoWe recently had the pleasure of working with this outstanding construction company to completely redo our fence, and we couldn't be happier with the results. From the initial consultation to the final touches, Ground Up Builders has demonstrated exceptional professionalism, craftsmanship, and attention to detail throughout the entire project. They were prompt in responding to my inquiries and took the time to understand my specific requirements and preferences. They arrived punctually each day, ready to tackle the project with enthusiasm and dedication. It was evident that they took pride in their work, meticulously ensuring that every component of the fence was installed to perfection. One aspect that particularly impressed me was the team's commitment to maintaining a clean and organized worksite. They took great care to minimize any disruption to my property and ensured that the surrounding areas were left tidy at the end of each workday. This attention to cleanliness and respect for my property was greatly appreciated. They completed the project within the agreed-upon timeframe. They efficiently coordinated the logistics and managed the project seamlessly from start to finish. I never had to worry about any unexpected delays or inconveniences, as they demonstrated excellent project management skills throughout the entire process. The end result exceeded my expectations. The new fence not only enhances the curb appeal of my property but also provides the security and privacy I was seeking. It is evident that the construction company takes great pride in their work, and the quality of their craftsmanship is truly remarkable. Overall, I cannot recommend Adi Aiish and his team highly enough for their outstanding work on my fence. Adi’s professionalism, expertise, and attention to detail was evident throughout the project. We will most certainly be using them again. Thank you!!!!!+3Posted on Yelp
Nicholas L.1284 days agoTom and his team were top-notch. From the initial consultation to pivoting several times based on new design approaches and availabilities of patio tile, he was patient, friendly and always willing to work with me. We had to remove an old broken jacuzzi from a raised patio decking and decided to expand the patio and create more livable space instead. Tom's crew was efficient and fastidious, and the price he quoted was the price we ended up paying, despite delays and issues outside of anyone's control. Really happy with the results.+9Posted on Google
Brittany Cliffe1526 days agoWe're so happy with the work done by Jacob & his team at Ground Up Builders! The whole process was transparent and clearly communicated. Whenever we had questions, all of the guys working at our house were helpful and if they didn't know something, they made sure to have Jacob call us to talk through our questions. The price was competitive and the work was done even quicker than they originally estimated. We asked all the employees to wear face masks at our house (we did as well) so everyone was able to stay safe during the project. When we're ready for our next home project, we'll call Ground Up since we know we can rely on their team.+1Posted on YelpChristin J.1529 days agoI recommend ground up builders for any home project! They rebuilt my wooden deck with Timbertech composite. I had 10 estimates and ground up builders price was reasonable. I do extensive research before using any contractor. They are fully licensed with CSLB, insured, and bonded. I found only good things about the company when I looked them up online. They are A+ rated on BBB. Amir was my project manager, and he was a pleasure to work with. He even surprised me with a party box of Crumbl cookies for my birthday during the construction phase. He was reachable at all times with any of my concerns and made sure all details were completed. They even use this cool app where you can check progress of your project, view and pay invoices and real time messaging. The workers were reliable, always on time ready to work. They kept the job site in broom clean condition each day. I am a very picky person and this crew pays extra special attention to detail. If you want a stress free project at a reasonable price hire ground up builders! Thank you Amir and team. My family and I will enjoy this beautifully built deck for years to come.+2Posted on Yelp
Angie T.1626 days agoGround Up literally just finished a bathroom add-on for me. Every step of the process was easy and stress-free. From the planning to the actual construction, every question or possible concern was addressed and explained in a patient and kind manner. The work itself was great. We stayed at budget and actually finished sooner than anticipated. Uzi is a great person to work with and his calm expertise and leadership was exactly what I needed. His workers were great too. Experts who worked hard and always smiled. Can easily and wholeheartedly recommend Ground Up to anyone considering having work done. As soon as we're ready to add on another bedroom, we will 100% hire Ground Up again. I had a lot of fears from all the things I'd heard about contractors and house work. Uzi and crew crushed all of those fears. It was a dream working with them. Very very happy.+0Posted on Google
Brooke McCreary1667 days agoI am a Realtor with ACME Real Estate in Los Angeles and worked with Adi Aiish and Ground Up Builders on an extensive project for a Seller client. In a nutshell, working with them was incredible. Adi managed his team impeccably, and they came in on budget, on time. Not only that, it was an absolute pleasure working with Adi! He went above and beyond when it came to answering questions for the client and for me. He was able to pivot when we had design changes and incorporated those updates without nickel and diming the Seller. He was also able to help us resolve a complicated permit violation on the home, and worked with the City to correct the defaults and clear the violation. The experience was such a wonderful one that the Seller considers Adi and me to be personal friends... and the work they did helped me to sell the house for over $150,000 over our record asking price. Thank you so much, Adi, for your help and great work! Looking forward to working with you on the next project!+3Posted on YelpBrooke M.1668 days agoI am a Realtor in Los Angeles and work with Adi Aiish and Ground Up Builders on an extensive project for a Seller client. Deborah W.1713 days agoI selected Ground Up Builders over several other contractors for a condo remodel based on the professionalism, courtesy, respect, thoroughness, and insight that Jacob (Project Manager of Ground Up) provided. From the very beginning when he entered my unit, he was on time and respectful by wearing a mask and offering to take his shoes off. He had a great attitude and really communicated care and passion for his line of work and how he would be able to help my remodel needs. He was attentive and listened to all my concerns and requests and provided an estimate on time like he promised. What I really appreciate is the time and care he spent in keeping me updated with the remodel from start to end. If for some reason, I was not happy, he was quick to make any necessary changes. I never felt out of the loop. His attentiveness allowed me to trust his work to be completed to my satisfaction and in the timeline he specified. Also, I have a very difficult HOA to work with and Jacob and his team followed all the contractual rules so as not to cause me any issues with them. He also provided some great tips to add value and prestige to my condo. He is passionate and meticulous and you gain a great sense in his goal to not only do a job to the best of his ability but to make sure that overall the client is happy. Without a doubt, I would choose Jacob again for the job and hope to work with him again on my other future projects!+1Posted on Yelp
Pascal B.1825 days agoWe had an old kitchen to gut and remodel. They gave us a reasonable quote including new cabinets, new electrical wiring, ventilation duct, new ceiling. We worked on a design together, and once we agreed on the terms, they gave us a planning, started on time and finished the job in 8 weeks as planned. Always responsive, courteous, efficient. We could always discuss our changing requests and they gave us good advices. The project manager was a pleasure to work with. Final corrections were easy. At the end we got a beautiful kitchen!+2Posted on Yelp
Austin T.1878 days agoFor full transparency I used to work for Uzi about 5 years ago. When my AC on the house was on its last leg in this crazy summer heat I knew just who to call. I've always felt Uzi was very fair with his pricing and always went above and beyond for his clients. I called him directly and sure enough he set up a time for his guy to come to the house and give me a bid. As much as I like Ground Up Builders I still got 2 other bids. His bid for a swap on a 5Ton was in the middle but all were pretty competitive. I ended up going with him, he scheduled install within 2 weeks since it wasn't an emergency and we still had a working AC. His guys came 8am on Monday took out all the old equipment and ducts and replaced the equipment on day one, on day two all the electrical work and ducts were installed. His guys were courteous, wore masks, covered floor with sheets and where the hatch to attic is happens to be in my closet, they covered all the clothes. Very happy with the work that was done, will update in future if necessary and highly recommend Ground Up Builders.+1Posted on Yelp
Lee S.1943 days agoGround Up Builders was extremely responsive! I called them one day and they called back immediately to schedule a visit the very next day to give us a quote. The work we requested included upgrading our condo throughout. They installed a beautiful step-in shower in our primary bathroom and upgraded our guest bathroom with a new sliding tub door with new trim around the shower tile. They installed two new toilets and cabinets in both bathrooms as well as upgrading the lighting and electrical throughout our condo. They upgraded our kitchen with beautiful new counter backsplash and multi-colored LED lighting under the cabinets. The also painted ceiling, walls and trim throughout. They installed a wonderful barn door and recessed dimmable lighting in our bedroom. Tom Zion was a pleasure to work with and provided great suggestions including modernizing the electrical switches and outlets throughout and adding dimmers where appropriate. The primary craftsmen assigned to our project were hard working and very responsive to our requests to ensure our satisfaction. We are very satisfied with the new upgrades and highly recommend Ground Up Builders!+6Posted on Google

Monica L.2140 days agoExceptional! Uzi stood out as our choice among 3 other contractors. He and his crew are incredibly conscientious, detail-oriented, and easy to work with. Uzi had an immediate grasp on our style and was invested in discussion on every one of our design ideas, no matter how seemingly insignificant. Each of his suggestions were perfectly on point. He made sure that we understood options and the financial impact of each, giving his best efforts to keep our costs down. He regularly kept us abreast of developments and progress, responding to text questions and phone calls within hours. He was on site frequently to inspect even the most minor of details- which, as a credit to his crew, were always to his satisfaction. Uzi and his crew- Cesar, Manny, Jose- and every single one of the employees from each company with which he contracts were kind, trustworthy, and lovely to have in our home. Giving thanks for each of them this holiday season!+2Posted on Google

shlomo tzalalihin2458 days agoWe had a dream... Upgrading our Home back yard with all new high end alumawood patio covers, fire place, BBQ pit, lighting and interlocking pavers. We finally got it, with simply the best builders group out there. and an amazing project management on site from A-Z by Adi Aiish. We could tell from the beginning how much Adi Aiish loves what he does so much that he insisted on making sure we visit his existing local customers remodeling projects, so we could see various styles of homes prior to making any final decisions. The opposite of all other builders who always pushed us to sign a contract without knowledge of details and patience like Adi had. We always wanted To make our back yard warm, cozy, wide open and friendly to host. We got to change our living spaces throughout the years to our needs, and we got to meet many con artists out there. they took our money, and brought up very poor results, and a patio cover that was a collapsing hazard. And this projets that we did with GUB, will definitely stay for life... So, after we’ve been burned so many times in construction, and we had literally tripled our cost of improvements by doing things with the cheapest quote we got. Since it’s all the same, right? Well, in construction it is not. The saying “you get what you pay for” did really well on our end, and we have paid the price. Lesson learned, and we are so glad we met Adi from ground up builders. They were not the cheapest, but definitely delivered their promise from A-Z, and really fast, with high quality of work, and no shortcuts been made, like typical others. Unbelievable. The amount of professionalism, dedication, industriousness and customer service Adi and his team delivered was just awesome. We love to host, and our back yard is very important to us. so we can invite as many friends and family members as we can. And We are extremely happy we decided to hire Adi Aiish as our guy to make our dream come true, he certainly did. Dear Adi Aiish. We wanted to share with the public our great experience working with you, and specifically thanking you so much for bringing to our HOME your amazing in-house professional crews to complete this project. You’ve thought of every little detail and did your best to save us as much as you could. your experience and outstanding creativity could fit all of our desired outcome within budget. You made sure the workers arrived daily, on time, and you’ve been on top of every step of the work progress, while managing other big remodeling projects, and an adorable 3 months old newborn that just came to your family. All at the same time, and you have still cared about us, and we appreciated it a lot. With all your sleepless hours you cared so much that We can tell you LOVE what you do so much that your treating your projects like it’s your own Family/Home! You visited daily to check the progress, you answered my calls at any time, and covered all my concerns. Even when there were issues (which are very common in construction) you have stood by us and took care of them without any hesitations / change orders, and you did not run away from those issues. All the advices and suggestions you brought up to us made so much sense and we thank you for that. We have no words to thank you enough for ALL you did for us. After having a continuous bad experience with other con artists in this industry, We must say that to find the right person to bring into your property and to have no worries that he will accomplish your wishes is not easy to do. You have definitely earned it! We trust you! and i know with all my heart we found “our guy“ for future projects will do in our home. Kitchen will be the next ;-) To all of you out there that are still debating on who is the right contractor for your next project. Use Adi Aiish and his amazing production team. All at the same time, and you have still cared about us, and we appreciated it a lot. With all your sleepless hours you cared so much that We can tell you LOVE what you do so much that your treating your projects like it's your own Family/Home! We trust you! and i know with all my heart we found "our guy" for future projects will do in our home. Kitchen will be the next ;-) To all of you out there that are still debating on who is the right contractor for your next project. Use Adi Aiish and his amazing production team. Their customer service level was just fabulous. Adi, You have respectfully earned your 5 star Review, by delivering your promises from A-Z. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Ian Cullimore2459 days agoThe job is complete! We are incredibly happy with the work and the whole crew at Ground Up Builders, Adi especially was there with us for every step of the way from initial quotes to final touchups. The job was completed fast! They were masters at organizing and scheduling the crew to have something finished everyday with no downtime. The work was better than we had imagined, and we highly recommend Adi and Ground Up Builders to anyone who was in our shoes a few months ago, sorting through lists trying to find a good fit.+5Posted on Yelp

Norm B.2607 days agoGreat experience with Ground Up Builders. I met with Adi Aiish and explained my unrealistic timeline for exterior stucco and window installation. He said "no problem" and he had a crew at my house to start the next morning. They accomplished the impossible: completed an exterior siding demolition on two walls, new stucco and custom double pane window in under TWO WEEKS. Unhead of in LA, but that's what I had to have. And Adi didn't even blink. The crew were terrific and the work was stalled. Can't praise the Ground Up Builders team enough.+1Posted on Yelp
Ashik P.3172 days agoSo this a review that has been along time coming. But I need to clarify where we are in the process with GUB. We haven't started the project yet, but this is our experience with the vetting process and why we chose Adi and GUB. They are helping us with our back yard hardscape and landscape project. Pavers, artificial turf and DG. Like most of you looking for help with a project like this, you're gonna do your homework and really learn what you're getting yourself into. We met Adi with GUB after meeting three other providers and still met with three more following his initial visit. Adi has really taken great care of us so far. That initial appointment was supposed to be 2 hours, but because of our questions and his insights , we spend the day making the vision we wanted. Mind you, we didn't sign with him that day. We still wanted to feel the market and get more quotes. And Adi and GUB were not the cheapest. We still spent about $5k more than the next group, but we really see the value in going with them. I visited a job site that Adi had managed and saw great work and great experiences from those home owners. So my next review will be base on the work that Adi and his crew at GUB will do, but thus far, we have had an amazing experience with Adi and GUB. He really has earned our business. I really think his efforts thus far will be indicative of the finished project. He's worth the call. He'll treat you like family and help you turn your vision into reality. Stay tuned for photos and another review of the finished project! ()()()()()() After Work Completion()()()()()()() I'll let the pictures speak for themselves on how impressed I have been with the results of my back yard. It was a pleasure to work with field manager Adi Aiish, who when we started this project held true to his promise to come back and fix any issues that may come up. I highly recommend GUB for two reasons: 1 All construction projects will encounter some unexpected hurdles and issues. I've learned this through my experience with GUB and also other companies. But what I am most concerned about is the willingness to resolve the issues. Adi promised me that on day 1 and even after 3 months following the completion of the project, they stood to that 100%. Not only did they own up, but they didn't make me jump trough loops and hoops to resolve the issues. 2 Communication with Adi was amazing! If you're like me that you want to stay involved with the project but not want to project manage, then you'll appreciate Adi's ability to keep you up to speed every day. At times I would get heated, but Adi was my Zen master through all this. After all is said and done, and having the experiences with GUB (both good and not so good) I would hire Adi and his crew 100% again. I have the backyard I've always wanted and thanks to this team, it's now a reality.+2Posted on Google
Anna Lefler46 days agoI can’t say enough positive things about working with Ground Up Builders, and my project manager Amir Afuta in particular. From my first introduction to Amir and the company, I was impressed by the level of knowledge, professionalism and genuine warmth he brought to the project. In the early stages, he listened to my hopes and concerns related to my substantial condo remodel, and he worked seamlessly with the designer based on his extensive experience as the design took shape. Then, throughout the demolition and construction process (which included taking the kitchen and large primary bath down to the studs), Amir was consistently on-site to supervise, and he was extremely on top of the details of the project. With all remodels, especially those in older buildings like mine, there are unexpected hiccups and challenges that result from things like geriatric plumbing systems. In these situations, I quickly came to rely on Amir’s calming presence and confident demeanor to relieve my stress about whatever obstacle had arisen. No matter what was going on, he had a plan leading to a solution. And if I had more questions later, I knew he would pick up if I called. My project has been completed for a few months now and I’m thrilled with my new home. All of the work was done beautifully and with great attention to detail. I have to say, the place looks amazing – a result well beyond what I had originally envisioned thanks to our wonderful team. Special shout-out to Amir’s full-time crew as well as specialist subcontractors – they were all warm, friendly and patient with all of my questions along the way. I’m so grateful to have worked with Amir and his team – I can’t imagine undertaking another project without him, and I can wholeheartedly recommend Ground Up Builders.Posted on Google

I wanted to give a quick update, as Uzi's team has since done several more projects for us. Jennifer A.272 days agoIn 2023, Ground Up Builders finished building an ADU for us as part of a garage conversion. This became a unit for my parents to live with us. Between 2016 and 2020, they also remodeled our kitchen and two bathrooms. Every time we have needed some work done, I call Uzi. Basically, there is no contractor/builder like this--it is now 2026, and I called Uzi today because of a concern about a leak that we discovered with the recent rains. He sent out his team immediately (eg., same day) and they discovered that squirrels had caused some damage. They covered the area to prevent further problems until we can get this fixed. Ground Up Builders is an incredibly responsive and highly professional company that does outstanding work and continues to be conscientious and gracious with any follow up issue. I am grateful for Uzi and continually impressed by his team. You won't ever go to anyone else after working with them!Posted on Yelp

Nora Singley346 days agoWe’ve worked with Uzi and the Ground Up Builders team on a number of projects in our home — from gut renovations of two bathrooms to opening up walls in our kitchen, installing new lighting and electrical, mold remediation, and refinishing all the floors in the house. Oh! And when we had an emergency plumbing situation a week after moving in having nothing to do with his work, Uzi sent his team immediately to help. While Uzi is incredibly capable with major renovations, he approaches even the smallest jobs with the same level of care. Truly, no job is too big or too small for him. Uzi is smart, thoughtful, patient, and deeply experienced-- he's like a walking encyclopedia -- he has answers to everything! He’s also an amazing communicator — always available, always willing to explain every step. We’re not the easiest clients (we’re very particular and even more indecisive!), but Uzi never once made us feel rushed or like we were a burden. He always walked us through every option and every choice. His team of painters, tile installers, plumbers, handymen, and more — are all so kind, skilled, professional, and respectful-- always putting on booties before entering and cleaning up after themselves when they finished. We always felt comfortable with the Ground Up team in our home. We appreciate Uzi more than we ever thought it was possible to appreciate a contractor. In short, we recommend him and Ground Up without hesitation.Posted on YelpNora S.346 days agoWe've worked with Uzi and the Ground Up Builders team on a number of projects in our home -- from gut renovations of two bathrooms to opening up walls in our kitchen, installing new lighting and electrical, mold remediation, and refinishing all the floors in the house. Sydney Ribot522 days agoThese guys were fantastic. Their bid to rebuild our deck was extremely fair. Adi Aiish, their field manager, was communicative and transparent, and he made our complete rebuild due to faulty construction happen not only on time but ahead of schedule—in spite of the fact that his wife was literally about to go into labor—and his team’s work was flawless. Part of that is because GroundUp Builders employs the same team every time. They do not hire random day laborers to cut costs, but people who have worked together before, and those people have a groove. That was evident in the quality and speed of their work. When there was a small oversight, GroundUp took full responsibility and did not attempt to do the usual runaround contractors do where they posture and pretend that you, the customer, are simply unequipped to assimilate the complexity of a five-layer deck renovation, instead of just saying, “yes, I forgot to ask for the cost of the cricketing for 24 square feet of the space.” Could not be happier with their work and the entire process. I hope to hire them for future renovations.Posted on Google

John H.734 days agoThis was our first time going through any type of remodel, so we were seeking a contractor and company with a great reputation along with demonstrating patience, competence, and professionalism. My wife found Ground Up Builders on Yelp and we got lucky enough to have Jacob as our Project Manager to come give us a bid and explore ideas. Long story short, Jacob was awesome, and we really felt as if this was his own home and took time and empathy from all angles of the project from concept to completion. We live in West Hollywood, so not an easy city to work with for permits along with an incompetent HOA, which Jacob navigated effectively whereas I feel others would almost give up or deprioritize simply bc of the hurdles in headaches. Not the case with Ground Up... Their overall work and craftsmanship were spot-on across all aspects of the remodel fit our vision and managed to get very close to the estimated time of competition even though the City and HOA were not on our side. Our new Kitchen looks amazing with a spa-like bathroom and impressive new flooring. Excellent work on all fronts. The renovation took exactly how long and cost exactly how much Uzi told us it was going to take/cost. We had ZERO issues. I never had to follow up on anything- Uzi was the one following up with us. A couple friends have since used Uzi and his team and have said the exact same thing. We are SO grateful and happy with how everything turned out, and would recommend Ground Up to anyone 10000x over.Posted on Yelp
Layal B.983 days agoI cannot say enough good things about Ground Up, the dream contracting company. We always heard so many horror stories from friends and family about contractors walking off the job, and renovations taking twice as long or costing twice as much, so we were nervous to get started on our house renovation. Jeanette M.1014 days agoAfter working with a few general contractors and not feeling great about it, we feel that we have found our guy! Jacob is a fantastic communicator- he cares about the details, follows through, and is responsive to our needs and questions. Our projects this year involves replacing the railings on our deck and repairing/rebuilding a part on the side of our house that had water damage. We will definitely be working with Jacob again for our next project!Posted on YelpJacky K.1018 days agoWe had the pleasure of having Jacob help us restore our home after a large flood. The project scope included a full kitchen remodel, one full bathroom remodel, as well as new flooring throughout. Jacob was attentive, friendly and most of all genuine. As first time homeowners, having someone we can trust throughout the process was very important. Jacob was very reasonable and always kept our best interest in mind. We felt very grateful to have Jacob not only manage the entire project but provide us guidance throughout the construction. He made sure the quality of the house was not only up to our standards but also up to his. Many times, he asked the crew to redo certain things despite us not catching those imperfections. Amazing! Jacob always made sure we were happy, even at one point offering to redo the entire shower floor due to some issues with the material. The peace of mind when working with a competent and professional project manager was well worth the money. Out of all the bids we got for our project, Ground Up was not the lowest - but after meeting and talking to Jacob, it was a very easy choice. He was very honest and thoughtful - and I can't stress how important that is when it comes to renovations with lots of money involved. We have future plans to do more renovations and have no doubt we will be reaching back out to Jacob to help us! If you're looking for help with your renovations, make sure to ask for Jacob. He will take care of your house like his own!Posted on YelpPia R.1042 days agoAs first time homeowners, we were very concerned about finding the right people to work with when we needed to remodel a bathroom, put in new floors, and renovate other areas of our new home. We had always heard wonderful things about Uzi and Ground Up Builders from friends and had worked with the company before - Nathan managed a small job at our old rental, which we were very happy with. Once we met Uzi, we felt very confident about working with his team on our larger project. Ground Up Builders did an amazing job adding a shower and remodeling a bathroom, in addition to putting new flooring in the whole home, interior painting and refinishing and updating lighting and a myriad of other things that needed to get done. Uzi responds to your questions and concerns and had so much patience for me and my many questions. His team is great - Marlon is excellent - as are all of the workers that came to our home. All of the people that Uzi recommended - for tile, window treatments, shower glass, everything we needed, were excellent and professional. Ground Up Builders finished the job and have been available for our continuing questions and to come back and touch up any tiny thing that we've had issues with. They stand by their work. I have not hesitated to recommended Ground Up Builders to my family and friends.Posted on Google
Chad Goei1063 days agoThere's nothing quite like the feeling of being a satisfied customer and sitting down to write a review of a business that I first noticed because of all the other satisfied customers. Does not happen enough, that's for sure. From the initial late-night reply & follow-up (to my late-night inquiry) from Eric, to meeting Avi the next day (!) to discuss our budget and options --- GUB immediately stood out as a company that takes their work and their customers seriously. I met with a few others before GUB and was getting a sense that no one was going to care about our little project given that our max was at or below the standard minimum, and that everyone seemed quite busy already. The only other company I could find that even remotely compared to Ground Up in terms of reviews and quality of work, sent what I would call a junior contractor who spent a grand total of about 3 minutes here before saying something like "Not to be mean or anything, but we're kind of a big company..." lol. No thanks to him, I'm guessing. Avi completely shattered my expectations from the get-go. He asked thoughtful questions and gave thoughtful answers with resourceful ideas and creative possibilities to help us track down that illusive buck bang. I could tell immediately that he genuinely cares about the work and the process which, oddly enough, includes the clients too! Hooray for the customer, someone still knows we exist! In the end, Avi remained both the only one willing to hit our number and the only one I actually wanted to work with. The next lowest bid was well over $5k more, by a far less polished contractor, who couldn't even include everything from our list. The difference was so stark, in fact, that some family back east were quite suspicious at first. I could not blame them! It seemed way too easy!! Thankfully, no one remained suspicious for long. Avi was a rock. He got right in here after contracts were signed and during the various delivery delays he remained patient, checking-in, and at-the ready. Also -- always available via text or call as we had various moving parts in terms of shopping for sizes of things, and some custom elements reliant on other things. When we finally won our game of musical vanities that caused weeks of delay... Avi and his team --- who were all very nice and respectful btw --- were right back here in a matter of days. Here's what you want to know: Avi & GUB delivered exactly as promised while practicing straight, honest, good faith, handshake business, with truly competitive pricing. He was always engaged and often times waiting on us (or Home Depot, rather) to continue the work. He showed experience, creativity, resourcefulness, patience, communication, trustworthiness, humility, and integrity -- in addition to just being a super nice guy who really cares about the work. I couldn't recommend Avi or GROUND UP BUILDERS enough! Stop searching and call them. You're welcome!Posted on Yelp

I really appreciate how he acknowledged my budget and provided solutions to fit what I wanted to achieve. He provided suggestions that I wouldn't have thought of which turned out very well. He is very customer centric and made sure to go out of his way to ensure I was happy through the whole experience. I would be lying if I said there weren't any hiccups/obstacles during the project, but Jacob made sure to hold himself accountable and resolve any issues and make sure I was happy with the results. edward castillo1187 days agoI want to start this review by reminding you that construction work isnt perfect and most of the time is a nightmare from unexpected repairs once construction starts to things not coming out right and might have to be redone which is normal with that being said Ground Up Builders does make sure that the construction process is less of a nightmare. After interviewing many companies I ended up hiring Ground up which I can say was the best decision I have made. Jacob their project manager is a perfectionist at this craft. He kept me in the loop of everything that was going to happen and always kept in touch, sometimes just to see how my family and I were doing which is great cause during construction you can be really stressed out and hearing from the person handling your project is comforting. I ended up with sewer and plumbing issues once the project started understandable since my house was made back when people were riding horses to get around town. Jacob reassured me Ground Up would do anything possible to help me out which they did. Caesar their construction supervisor handling the team getting all the work done around my house was great he always made sure the team was working hard to get my house completed on time and the way I wanted it. Tish from their corporate office was also great handling the financial part of things and helping me when I had any concerns regarding payment. I can honestly say that ground up has to be the best constriction company in LA.Posted on Yelp

XM H.1282 days agoGround Up Builders really came through with our shower rebuild project. I reached out through Yelp messaging and someone reached out within a day. I communicated with Jacob who was our project manager and he came immediately to give us a quote on our rebuilding shower. I appreciated that he entered my home with a mask on without me asking since I am pregnant. Jacob was very responsive and considerate of our situation. We expressed how we were on a budget and his quote was reasonable. He offered to take the job even though it was too small for most contractors to want to take on. I expressed urgency of a timeline to get the shower done before my baby is due and Jacob made the accommodation for his crew to get started right away. His crew worked quickly and was able to get done in only a few weeks after I had reached out and they did a great job on the shower! I appreciate how super responsive and accommodating they were to my project needs. Now I have a new shower and I can't wait to shower in it! From the moment we started working together, we were struck by how Uzi would always pick up calls or respond to messages. If there was a question, he answered it and if there was a problem, he solved it. We welcomed a new baby amidst our renovation, and with so much going on in our lives, we never had to worry about the stress of construction. Uzi and the team are incredible problem-solvers, their communication is top notch, and they did a fantastic, detail-oriented job, going above and beyond at every turn. They had done a beautiful remodel of our friends' house so we decided to give them a shot. From the very beginning, the owner was so detailed and honest with the bid. The bid came in right around what it originally said and the remodel actually got done in the timeframe he estimated. In addition, his crew are really wonderful people - friendly, considerate, hardworking. In terms of what they did, well they did everything! Our house is 100 y/o and we wanted a major renovation to the inside as well as converting an exterior garage to a 1 bedroom rental (ADU). Ground Up moved walls, built walls, added bathrooms (including beautiful tiles), laid down all new floors, built the 1 bdrm rental ADU... from the ground up! Jay D.1486 days agoUzi and his crew was really great - we hired them for a mixed bag of projects- replaced both main entry doors to the house, built a utility shed, some fencing and gates, redid poorly design yard stairs to a nice new solid footing, plus painting, and some light interior/exterior improvements. Not only was the crew very good, friendly and capable, but twice during the project we had unexpected emergencies - a blown water heater and a leaky sink drainage pipe - Uzi's guys were right on top of it and we barely noticed the problem getting taken care of. We have recommended GUB to several friends, who have also had nothing but good things to say. I had a puzzle to solve in my home to fit a new larger sized fridge in a kitchen that was built to accommodate a small one. We needed a little bit more room to open the french doors on top. I had an idea to open up the space between 2 studs of a wall beside the fridge. If I were to do it myself it would of taken weeks but he had 2 guys come in and do in in 2 days. The craftsmanship, professionalism and results bring us joy every time we open and close the fridge with ease. Kari R.1969 days agoWithin 24 hours of my original review, Ground Up contacted me. The office manager was apologetic and quick to help rectify the problems I shared. The team led by Adan was thorough and careful. They worked diligently to correct many smaller issues, as well as two larger ones. In the bathroom, they removed all of the tile in the shower and completely replaced it. Our original tile is discontinued but Adan's team was quick to help me find a suitable replacement. Since the accent tile didn't match now, the workers brought many samples to help me select the best match. In the bedroom, they fixed a gouge on the wall and pulled up the flooring to fix the issues with the subflooring. Want to know the best part of this whole repair process? I learned that the contractor (Elio) who completed my initial job does not work for them anymore! I'm hoping that means you will not have the same experience as me. Ground Up showed me that they really care about customer service, so I feel comfortable updated my review to reflect that.Posted on Yelp
Sue A.1975 days agoGround up builders did a great job on my windows.I am going to call them for another project I have that needs to be donePosted on HouzzHU-8797920901978 days agoI love everything about Ground Up Builders. Their work is always wonderful and gets done incredibly fast. If I have a question about anything I always get the answer right away and, most importantly, I will keep hiring them again and again for each of my needs. I’ve never been disappointed and have recommended them to everyone I know. They’ve helped with my foundation, my new air conditioning, rebuilt both the front and back porches, replaced the gutters, fixed the electricity, and plumbing, repaired rain damage, installed a more efficient water heater and the list goes on and on. I can’t wait to hire them to install a second bathroom and beyond. Jenni McCormick Los Angeles, CAPosted on YelpKara S.2004 days agoJust got my garage remodeled and I couldn't be happier. I had a few different companies bid on the job, but Tom from Ground Up was the clear winner. He asked all of the right questions and was very professional. When it came time to build, Fransisco was at my place everyday and Tom checked in constantly. As with every project there were a few snafus, but Tom handled everything with grace which I appreciated. Even after the project was finished I noticed an electrical issue. I texted Tom on Friday and he had his electrician there on Monday to fix everything. We now have a beautiful space that we love hanging out it. I would definitely hire them again.Posted on Yelp
Calli Q.2023 days agoI found them through a friend that was happy with their work. I only needed adding a wall with a door to create a small den/office by my bedroom. It was quick, no surprise charges, and I was treated with respect the whole time. I was worried because I know for my friend they did much bigger renovations so was wondering if I'll get the same level of care and I was happy when I did.Posted on YelpLauren S.2038 days agoI feel incredibly lucky to have been connected to Uzi, and Ground Up Builders, through a trusted friend. Uzi is a person that values clear and direct communication and pays attention to detail, two qualities that I appreciate immensely. So far I've hired Uzi and company to do a drainage pipe replacement + instal new pipe liner and was very happy with my decision- the job was completed on budget and quicker than anticipated. In addition, the process of getting the bid, scheduling the work and the follow-up after completion of the work, was seamless. I am now hiring Uzi to restore the stone facade around the exterior of my historic house and getting a bid to do exterior painting... pretty hopeful that this will be a long term relationship with Uzi and Ground Up Builders!Posted on YelpDarren B.2041 days agoWe had Ground up Builders install a high electricity transformer for our office. Avi C.2049 days agoMy mother in law was looking to renovate her kitchen, she asked for our help to find her a good reliable contractor. Shopping around reading reviews, I always start with the bad reviews before I read the good ones. Based on all the different reviews we read for all the companies we looked at, Ground up builders felt to us like the right choice. You know, it's that feeling you get at the estimate stage that makes you trust someone without even knowing them... Little did we know that this was the best choice we could have made. Uzi and his team were as professional as one would hope! They are with you all the way until you are completely happy with the result. The communication was a key factor here, since we were helping my mother in law remotely, having someone to talk to about any little issue or any changes that we wanted to do is so important! Uzi was there answering any questions we had and was flexible with the changes she wanted to do, even though some were not in the original plan. I can't thank Uzi and his team enough for making a stressful remodeling project so easy and my mother in law so happy. If you are like me, reading the bad reviews first, I hope you would also read this review, cause after working with them, I cannot imagine how anyone would have a bad experience with them... Honestly, I'm sure things might go wrong sometimes, but with the maximum effort they've made for us, I'm having hard time believing someone had a bad experience with their service. If you need remodeling, don't think twice, it'll be the best decision you could make, I know it was for us.Posted on YelpMark R.2205 days agoI recently was introduced to Uzi to discuss a new renovation project. Jinah K.2236 days agoI can not recommend Uzi Zaray and the crew of Ground Up Builders enough. We hired Ground Up Builders after getting bids from four contractors. We were impressed with how clear his bid was and his enthusiasm for bringing life to a total fixer upper. We made major interior changes, including moving a kitchen, redoing all the windows, adding new floors, adding a new bedroom, adding a master bathroom, installing a new Hvac system, removing all the weird soffits, and demolishing nearly 600 square feet of unpermitted space. Uzi and his crew stayed on budget and despite the fact that four months into constructions COVID created road blocks, we only fell a few weeks behind schedule. He and his crew went above and beyond. He responds quickly and is clear in his communication. His crew was respectful and professional. Any mistakes they made Uzi or his Forman addressed right away. The inspections passed without any problems. He is a genuinely nice person who is highly knowledgeable and takes great pride in doing a good job. We are going to build an ADU and will be hiring him for the job. You will not be disappointed hiring Ground Up Builders for your needs.Posted on Yelp
Cristina P.2274 days agoMy husband and I have a "money pit" house. We have been doing major renovations for over a year as funds become available. I contacted 4 window installers to give me a quote. All four showed up and promised a quote, but only Peter came through and actually took the project on. We were ghosted by 3 window PROFESSIONALS! It felt like online dating all over again! Ok, our project was a bit more complicated that just simple windows. But he knew he had the team that could deliver. He also was able to work in replacing our HVAC unit too! Then the pandemic hit and our funds dried up. Peter was very patient. He would check in on me and didn't judge us or give off the air of irritation that we were not able to pull the funds together for the agreed upon estimate. Finally our home loan cleared and when I called him he went right to action. He had Julio and his window guys here in a giffy. He had Shlomi and his air conditioning/heating crew here quickly. Everything was done within days! It went so smooth! The crew wore masks, kept their distance, brought their own handsoap and were so polite! Peter was energetic, positive and made me laugh constantly. It was such a nice experience that I will absolutely be calling them for our next big projects.... flooring!Posted on Houzz

Ground Up seemed to be the highest rated company amongst the companies I looked up although not the cheapest but they were willing to work with me regarding the project cost. Out of the companies that I requested a quote, Ground Up was one of the only ones that sent someone to do an on site inspection and then put together a quote on the spot. The communication with Adi, the Project Manager was excellent. Always followed up the day of the installation and afterwards. Any issues that came up, he was able to resolve right away. The workers that did the actual window installation were pretty efficient and fast, they clearly knew what they were doing. Based on the many positive reviews I read on Yelp, I contacted Ground Up Builders. Guy, the company representative, showed up on the day and time promised. After doing an inspection of the damaged section of the floor he gave me an initial estimate that I thought was very reasonable. Our contract called for an L.A. City inspector to come out for a pre inspection of the damaged floor joist and recommend repairs needed to be compliant with current building and safety codes. The inspector determined that a structural engineering plan needed to be done and approved by the city. Naturally, this requirement changed the scope of the project and resulted in additional costs. Guy, who was very knowledgeable and professional, explained the additional work that was required and gave me a revised estimate that was reasonable and fair. The additional plans and repairs required caused some delays in starting the work. Once the work project received the green light, the work started on the day scheduled and was finished on the date promised. Guy and his coworker Adi diligently supervised the work, were in constant contact and readily available to answer all questions for the duration of the project. The workers were very professional and responsible and did an excellent job. I was very pleased with the work done, and the friendly, knowledgeable and professional service received from Guy and Adi. Angel B.2787 days agoWhile sifting through yelp looking for someone who can replace only 4 bedroom windows and possibly an external door, I found myself nervous and stressed, receiving calls and messages after requesting a quote....which I had no idea was going to happen so quickly. I was met with less than desirable candidates that did not seem interested in such a small task, made me take measurements and estimated over the phone instead of allowing me to meet them in person, trying to force a certain style of window on me, or stating that I would have to order windows from them before they even greeted me. As my emotions are taking over and my anxiety rising, I receive a call from Eric and he was so calm and welcoming, I felt instantly better. We talked a little and I set up a time for a contractor to come out and take measurements and I was a little skeptical it was going to turn out well after the experiences I had. When Jeremy showed up he was very professional, prepared, and had a warmth about him that was very inviting. He thoroughly discussed things with me involving how to choose the right contractor and check licenses to ensure they have had their license as long as they claim. He then walked through the house with me and took measurements addressing all my concerns and building a relationship of trust. The quote he gave was very reasonable and he added in the door as well as a possibility and then checked the attic before he left and offered an additional solution to keeping the climate inside our old house regulated better. He gave me a list of options to choose from digitally so I could select different options after I discussed them with my grandmother who owns the house. We were able to choose what we could handle doing at the moment without feeling guilt for not being able to do everything on the list and hit the button to accept the quote. I received a response almost immediately and Jeremy has walked us through every step of this process so far and he treats us as if we have a large project which feels good. We don't feel less important because the job is a smaller one. We look forward to working with Jeremy in the coming weeks and if the windows are installed beautifully and we are as satisfied with the work as we are with the demeanor of the company, then we will surely have a contractor and company we will be using again in the future. From what I have experienced so far I highly recommend Ground Up Builders.Posted on Google

You can't ruin someones reputation because your free estimate didn't work out too well. After getting a free estimate for remodeling an apartment that is a part of a duplex, Ground Up Builders sent a representative, Adi, who gave me a very reasonable estimate for redoing the whole apartment. The previous tenant was evicted and as you can image they left a huge mess in the apartment. Adi was very professional and not pushy at all. We even got estimates from other companies too but non of them were as professional and open about their estimate and breakdown of cost. We ended up going with them and they did an AMAZING job! Highly recommend them for your home.Posted on YelpJennifer H.3037 days agoI thought I already wrote a review but I didn't see it posted. We were worried about not getting personal attention when hiring a bigger company. We were equally afraid that the costs wouldn't be reasonable. Uzi Zaray and Ground Up Builders quickly put our fears to rest. Ground Up Builders is an army of skilled gentlemen craftsman, led by a gifted, talented, intelligent, and all around nice guy, Uzi Zaray. GUB's army transformed our dirt and weed filled backyard into a showpiece. We are now working on our second masterpiece, our kitchen. We will be clients for life! Do yourself a favor when considering a contractor. Don't waste your time and money on unlicensed "handymen". Hire a professional, hire an army, hire Ground Up Builders, Uzi Zaray.Posted on Angie's ListNisim H.3080 days agohands down one of the best companys i have worked with, very efficient, clean and the price was spot on since i've got 3 other quotes. thank u ground up!Posted on Google

Weston K.3131 days agoSuper nice and knowledgeable. Worked within my budget and made my wife very happy. Thanks again! 🙂Posted on Angie's ListAshik P.3172 days agoI’ll let the pictures speak for themselves on how impressed I have been with the results of my back yard. It was a pleasure to work with field manager Adi Aiish, who when we started this project held true to his promise to come back and fix any issues that may come up. I highly recommend GUB for two reasons: 1 All construction projects will encounter some unexpected hurdles and issues. I’ve learned this through my experience with GUB and also other companies. But what I am most concerned about is the willingness to resolve the issues. Adi promised me that on day 1 and even after 3 months following the completion of the project, they stood to that 100%. Not only did they own up, but they didn’t make me jump trough loops and hoops to resolve the issues. 2 Communication with Adi was amazing! If you’re like me that you want to stay involved with the project but not want to project manage, then you’ll appreciate Adi’s ability to keep you up to speed every day. At times I would get heated, but Adi was my Zen master through all this. After all is said and done, and having the experiences with GUB (both good and not so good) I would hire Adi and his crew 100% again. I have the backyard I’ve always wanted and thanks to this team, it’s now a reality.Posted on Yelp
Holden S.3178 days agoI'll start with "GREAT JOB"!!! I'm very pleased with Ground Up Builders' customer service and the quality of work.... Adi Aiish, the field manager, is a hard worker, and i admire he's industriousness!!! he always communicated and kept me updated with every step of the project and made it a really smooth experience. The crew were always on time, and were of a very high quality, and very responsive. Adi makes a big difference in this industry as far as customer service that is out there based on past experiance with contractors. He came to job site as promised and answered my questions extremely quickly. I hired this company for a driveway project, which ended being a turf stone and gravel design that made my driveway much better than just concrete. i love it! And I'm looking forward to working with them on another big structural project, after being skeptical about doing this project from past experience! Adi & he's team, keep up the good work. you earned it...Posted on Google

Nancy Saltzman3444 days agolive in Los Angeles and own a rental property in Ventura by the beach. After meeting various companies on which I couldn't decide, when I met Tal Winograd from Ground up builders I felt much more conformable moving forward and letting them do the job. Tal took me personally to see some projects that were being build and some others that were finished. That totally sealed the deal. Tal was very knowledgable, had great ideas and suggestions that other companies had previously missed. The price was very fair for the amount of work needed. We remodeled the kitchen and bathrooms to a modern clean style exactly the way I had wanted. There was great communication with the team that executed the job. Their office was available and on call 24/7 if I had any questions. Tal supervised the job himself. Great professionalism, on time, with uniforms, every day after the work was done the team cleaned my house. When the project was completed it was not visible that anything was done there but house looked brand new :) I look forward to working with Ground up buildersPosted on Google

No complaints!!!!Posted on Angie's ListAshik P.3468 days agoSo this a review that has been along time coming. Evelyn L.3479 days agoI was referred to Uzi by a friend who raved about his honesty, reliability and quality of work. We bought a house as-is via a probate sale and have had various issues that needed immediate resolution. Uzi and Ground Up were always there for us, solving our problems promptly and efficiently. They are honest, stand by their work, and have been a life-saver. After moving in, we got a notice from the city that there were pending permits on the house that had expired. Uzi and his team dealt with the city on our behalf, scheduling the inspections and performing the work to get the city to finalize the permits Then we had our HVAC go out on a hot weekend. Uzi answered my texts on a weekend and scheduled a technician to come out on Monday. The technician fixed the problem so that we were able to use the air again the same day. And they continue to work for us, on time and on budget! I feel so fortunate to have found them - they are gold! Here is their website groundupbuilders.com. We worked with Uzi, who adhered to the contract in terms of price, terms and completion date, we ran into a small unforeseen delay, as was still able to complete In the give time frame! The crew minimize disruption to the household (dust containment, etc.), ensuring to work around the children’s nap schedules and and do a thorough clean-up job each day. They were very conscientious about every detail and makes sure the quality of Ground Up Builders workers' work is where it needs to be. Our project manager communicated about every step of the process that requires decisions by the homeowner and was good at explaining what needs to be done. The entire Ground Up Builders team was pleasant to work with and patient with inexperienced clients who need extra explanation of the process. We hope to hire them again for a second bathroom remodel and a partial kitchen remodel.Posted on Google

Overall a satisfied customer so far .. will be happy to recommend this company to my friends.Posted on Angie's ListGeorge K.4348 days agoOverall the experience met our expectations. It has been a great pleasure working with Uzi and him team of PROS.Posted on YelpStephen S.4459 days agoUzi and the Ground Up Builders team did an awesome, professional job with insulating my house. They were competitively priced, on time, completed the work quickly, and cleaned up when the job was done. I've worked in the real estate/building industry for over 12 years and definitely recommend Ground Up; these are the guys you want to use. Here's more detail on my experience: A portion of my house needed insulation blown in because it was drafty and cold and we were spending $500/mo on heating. I called out a couple contractors to take a look and bid the job. I found that Uzi and his team were highly knowledgeable about building envelopes, energy efficiency, insulation, and building in general; he holds several building professional accreditations. Additionally, his bid was very competitive and he offered the simplest solution with the least disruption to my family and my house. During the course of the work I asked Uzi to insulate an unusual wall cavity which was covered in plaster and presented a difficult condition to deal with. Uzi had originally stayed away from that section because he was concerned an expanding foam insulation for this particular condition could crack the wall. I told him to go ahead and just do the work. Uzi was right, and the wall cracked when the foam expanded. I called him, acknowledged that he was right, and asked if his crew could fix it - I would pay for it since it was my mistake. Uzi sent a guy out the next day who cut out a wall section to shave back the insulation, re-patched the wall, sanded it and painted it. Looks good as new. And there was no additional charge. Unbelievable. You will not find a contractor like this who goes the extra mile to make sure the customer is happy and the job is done perfectly.Posted on Angie's ListIrvin P.4469 days agoIt went great. TIRAN S.4498 days agoafter dealing with a terrible Contractor, we used Yelp to find one that we thought would work out for us... We found uzi who did our energy insulation installation . He arrived to our house on time and was incredibly professional. Provided a quote on the spot and let me say that his price was very reasonable. I was more than happy with the renovation. His crew was on time and extremely professional. The work was completed even before the projected time frame which is a rarity in the industry! We have used him for several of our renovation projects since then. He's also a very honest and nice guy! You will not regret giving him your business.Posted on Yelp
Jeannine R.5266 days agoUzi and his team are real life savers !!!! I had done attempted a two bathroom remodel and several improvements all around the entire house and my nightmare of a "handyman" had left me with my house in pieces and almost not liveable. When Uzi and his team came in, they took over took charge and redid everything to my specifications and likes. On top of that we did everything with permits and up to code so I don't have to worry anymore. All this at a fair price and without refusing to take over someone else's mess up. I can never say "Thank You" often enough. If you want your job done right, on time, at a fair price AND have fun doing that, Ground Up Builders is your ticket.Posted on Angie's ListChardi K.5692 days agoHe was the lowest bid. I saw the work across the street that they did. That house was exactly the same condition as my house. I saw that they had done a really nice job. He gave me estimates for doing the kitchen because I am doing all kinds of stuff to the house. He seemed honest.Posted on YelpIbrahim M.5816 days agoHighly recommended for major or minor construction projects. We used them twice so far for multiple projects including a whole new guest bathroom, placing tiles instead of old carpets, and lately an out door kitchen and paving of the side yard. Very good work with highly specialized teams for different problems. Dealing with Uzi is not like dealing with any other contractor. He was actually pleasant, patient to listen to all our different ideas and has a good honest opinion about what we thought. Very helpful to come up with more ideas and solutions. His follow up is unique and he is young and full of energy and enthusiasm. Easy to negotiate with and well organized.Posted on YelpT N.5897 days agoI just wrapped up a 3 month home addition project with Uzi from Ground Up builders. The 230sqft addition (Master bedroom and Master bath) came out beautifully. My house was built in 1936, on an elevated subfloor, so a seamless transition was very important to me. They did a great job aligning the floors up, as well as creating a seamless line between the new drywall and old lathe and plaster walls. I chose Ground Up from several contractors because I appreciated the manner in which Uzi very promptly responded to my inquiries -- both by phone and email. It's difficult at the early stages to pick a contractor because everyone claims 'great work" etc., but the communication factor to me was very important. The fact that the work was stellar was an added plus to the communication. Like any construction project, you need to expect problems. We had an old home, so when they tore open the walls, our heart sunk as we discovered a bit of termite damage and some problems with the plan. Despite what would be two major setbacks, Uzi expeditiously and professionally handled the two obstacles by providing recommedations and solutions in dealing with the city. Additionally, it would be unreasonable to expect anyone to read my mind when the final aesthetic touches had to be installed. There were some minor miscommunications which were quite reasonable and to be expected. What I want to point out here is that despite the occasional miscommunication, Uzi always did a great job clearing matters up and correcting the situation in a matter that left everyone happy. During construction, I had a chatty older neighbor come over every day to watch the progress and he was continually amazed at how fast, efficient and clean the crew was. And the fact that they were there and committed to the project every day was impressive. After my construction was done, my neighbor hired Ground Up Builders (which earned me a little bit of cash as a referral bonus), which is a nice way for the company to share a little bit with client on referral. Overall, I'm very pleased with the work. Construction is stressful, no matter how smoothly everything goes -- and things never go smoothly. So find someone you're comfortable communicating with, because you'll see that person for several months -- and if stink at communicating, you're going to have a bad experience. That's certainly my number one recommendation for Uzi at Ground Up Builders. If you want some photo references of the work, you can ask Uzi for photos of the master bedroom and bathroom addition of Tom in Glendale.Load more
