A reface is worth knowing about because most homeowners do not know it is an option. If the cabinet boxes are sound, and in a well built house they usually are, you can change the doors, the fronts and the counters and leave the carcasses where they are. It is a fraction of the cost of a full kitchen and it gets most of the visible change.
